We’re thrilled to announce that St Albans High School For Girls has won an Independent Schools of the Year 2025 award, in the Marketing Award for Brand Communication category.

STAHS won for its ‘Think again’ campaign, which emphasises that STAHS stands proudly as an all-girls’ school. The campaign features close-up photographs of 12 students, each described by words chosen by their friends. With the tagline, ‘Think you know girls’ schools? Think again,’ the campaign aims to dispel outdated misconceptions about single-sex education and highlights the STAHS experience as vibrant, warm, and free from stereotypes and bias.

The Independent Schools of the Year awards are the independent school sector’s leading awards programme.

Amber Waite, Principal of St Albans Education Group, said “This is a fantastic award, and I’m so pleased that the hard work of our Marketing team, MCC and photographer Stephanie Belton has been recognised by the Independent Schools of the Year awards. The campaign invited those who might have ideas about what an all-girls’ school is like to visit us and invited families to experience the vibrant, joyful reality of life at STAHS. We have been very pleased with the results of the campaign and are delighted that it is receiving recognition within the sector. We are so grateful to the 12 students who took part — whose energy and authenticity brought our message to life — and to their friends who chose the descriptive words that featured in the campaign, showing the tight-knit, supportive community that makes STAHS so special.”
