At Stormont School STAEG contractors renewed the tarmacadam surface of the multi-use games area following damage caused largely by the surrounding tree roots over many years. The previous chain link fence has also been replaced with modern dark green powder coated mesh. Our solution allowed the new surface to sit on top the existing surface thereby protecting the tree roots of the impressive, mature trees that sit around the court’s perimeter.

The area now includes markings for pickleball alongside tennis and netball.

Director of Estates, Chris Birkbeck said “Investing in a renewed surface makes it a fantastic addition to Stormont’s facilities. It gives students a high-quality space to be active, play, and develop their skills and enjoy sport. It is important to STAEG that our schools have facilities that support both the sporting and wider development of our pupils.”
