Amber Waite shortlisted for Headteacher of the Year award
We’re proud to announce that Amber Waite has been shortlisted for a prestigious Tes Schools Award.
She is one of eight candidates from across the UK who are in the running to be Headteacher of the Year (Independent).
Mrs Waite was Head of STAHS from 2019 to 2024, before taking up the role of Principal of the St Albans Education Group (STAEG) – of which STAHS is the flagship school – last summer.
Criteria for success in the Headteacher of the Year category include fantastic leadership, staff development and wellbeing, community engagement, and academic achievement.
The Tes Schools Awards celebrate excellence in education by showcasing the achievements of staff and students from across the state and independent sectors. The winners will be announced in a special ceremony in London on 20 June.
Mrs Waite said: ‘I’m delighted to have been shortlisted for this wonderful award. Being Head of STAHS was a great honour and I’m immensely proud of what I was able to achieve during my tenure, with the support of an exceptional team of staff.’
